No, I woke up to a call this morning from the director of transfer admission. Despite doing pretty well in the audition, I didn't make the cut to study voice. With how I did at East and ISU and on ACT and whatever, most schools would want me academically [I'm not trying to be braggy or self-righteous, that's just true], and it's obvious from my essays and such that I really /want/ to go there, so they guy was just calling to see if I wanted to consider another major or audition on another instrument or whatever. But that's not what I want.
If I hadn't been to Wesleyan, I would be more than happy choosing to attend Millikin. And I still am. And they have great choirs, better than Wesleyan's definitely. And they're giving me money. I'm not in a bad situation, it's just hard to stay positive about it when what actually happened just now was rejection.
I'm fine, I'll be fine. Sorry to dump that all on you.
No, not dumping at all. That sucks about Wesleyan, but I’m glad you’re happy with Millikin. I’m glad you finally got to make a decision and can start making plans for next year and that that situation finally worked itself out. =]
Things appear to be heating up for Carey Mulligan and Marcus Mumford of the indie band Mumford & Sons.
The UK’s Daily Mail reports that the Oscar-nominated actress, 25, and the British folk singer, 24, took a romantic holiday in the Buckinghamshire area of South East England this weekend, after spending last week in the historic Orkney Islands. They’ve been spending time at his place in London, as well.
As Us Weekly previously reported, Mulligan and pal Jake Gyllenhaal caught a secret Mumford & Sons show in Nashville, Tenn. February 7, at the home of band members from The Apache Relay.
“At the end of the night there were just the musicians, Jake, Carey, and the Mumford boys,” an insider told Us. “We had some pizza, and just played music. Jake picked up a guitar and Carey joined in on ‘Amazing Grace.’ Marcus and Carey seemed really friendly.”
And a few days later, Mumford and Mulligan caught a secret Arcade Fire show in NYC and then hit a private members only club, a second source tells Us.
“They were whispering to each other and enjoying the show,” says the source. “They definitely seemed like a couple.”
In October, Mulligan split with longtime beau Shia LeBeouf, while Mumford broke up with singer Laura Marling last year.
Usually I could not care less about things like this, but A. he was with Laura Marling? and B. OH MY GOD PERFECT PEOPLE.
